Vision
Graphics uses state-of-the-art film and high-end flatbed scanners
to scan your images – transparency, negative and artwork
originals – to suit a variety of requirements. All scans
(except Multimedia and Frontier) are supplied as TIFF files.
JOB
-READY PREPARED SCANS
These scans are of the highest quality in all areas. Colour,
density, contrast and sharpness issues are addressed as well
as dust and dirt removal. Additional work required will be
charged as retouching system time.
RAW SCANS (TRANSPARENCY, B&W NEGATIVE AND FLAT
ARTWORK UP TO A3 ONLY – EXCLUDES COLOUR NEGATIVE)
These excellent value scans offer the same high quality using
the same equipment but without the fine-tuning features applied
in our fully prepared job-ready scans. No dust removal, colour
or density correction is included. Ideal for those planning
to carry out their own final image preparation. These scans
offer an approximate 40% SAVING
off our fully prepared scans.
• Final scanned size refers to the intended size of image
output.

scans done by Vision Graphics are written to CD. |

done by VG for Digital Print Output are kept on file for one
week only, with the exception of Frontier scans, which are deleted
straight after printing. |

scans for inkjet print output are saved as RGB TIFF at between
120 and 300dpi resolution (dependent on the selected print output
size). |

Images
scanned and burned can include individual file names –
consult Production Managers for a quote. |

RGB
scans are best suited to photographic output, web usage and
monitor viewing. CMYK scans are best suited to pre-press and
most standard printer applications. |
| FRONTIER
SCANNING SERVICES |

Economical
scans available from 35mm to medium format, colour and B&W,
negative and transparency. These scans are saved as JPEGs
and are burned to CD (readable on both Windows and Mac). Frontier
scans are optimised for Frontier Digital Minilab print output.
Vision Graphics offers three levels of scans through the Frontier
Digital Minilab:
Screen Resolution
RGB scans, ideal for email/web purposes or positional layouts.
6.4MB
RGB files sized to 25.5" x 17.1" @72dpi (equivalent
to 4" x 6" @ 300dpi) in size. They are the scans
we recommend for clients who may want reprints or enlargements
up to 6"x9" (including the standard 4" x 6"
postcard-size reprints).
20MB
RGB files sized to 46.6" x 31.11" @72dpi (equivalent
to 11.2" x 7.47" @ 300dpi) in size. They are the
scans we recommend for clients who may want reprints or enlargements
up to 10" x 15".
